Obtaining the R2 certification  

As per the best international practices, the R2 certification can be achieved using the following approaches. Initially, the organization must be registered with ISO 14001 certification and followed by certain process implementations to consider. They include: 

• Fill out the application form with SERI with the POC of organization  

• You will receive an email confirmation from SERI’s license agreement, and you can obtain the minimum requirements for obtaining the certification. 

• Choose a SERI approved certification body and conduct an audit to issue the certificate. There are about seven approved bodies to certify the companies to R2:2-13 which is a three-year commitment. 

• Internal audits need to be conducted to check for the relevant references, and formal training to validate the data destruction processes.  

• Formal audits are conducted to check the conformity of the organization on a daily basis. 

• Interim reports are generated, and corrective actions are taken by the organization with the help of auditor 

• Finally, once you confirm the completion of stage-two audit process, the organization can be issued with an R2 certificate.
