ISO 22301 Business continuity management system provides a facility for an organization to choose to implement the standard on an entire or a part of the business. This requires a scope analysis conducted by fixing a meeting with the sponsor or a project team/ so as to make this strategic decision. If your staff is located at a single location you can include the entire place as the scope but if they reside at various international locations then you must start with setting the scope countrywise to cover all areas systematically. One more thing that has a major role in identifying the dimensions of the scope is the budget of the organization, a smaller budget should ideally be aligned with a smaller scope. 

Addressing an organization’s critical products and services first and then gradually expanding the scope to other parts of the products and services could save endless planning efforts. A well documented formal scope statement will set the limits of the business continuity effort saving time and money both.
